The Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) is a national programme funded by the Department for Education. The programme provides free activities and food for children eligible for free school meals during the Easter, Summer, October half term and Christmas holidays. If eligible families receive vouchers from their school to book onto activities.
As the Area Lead for HAF for the past three years we have delivered with a number of partners including The National Ice Centre, Skate Nottingham, The Greenway Centre, Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre and Epic Partners.
Since the summer of 2021 we have provided over 100 Holiday Activity Fund sessions and over 4,000 meals for families receiving free school meals and we’ve worked with partners and supported local organisations to provide sessions and activities throughout the area.
The activities at our sessions vary but have included skateboarding, football, cricket, basketball, urban hockey, dance, yoga, climbing walls, ice skating and visits to the National Justice Museum, Stonebridge City Farm, St Ann’s Allotments
Partners we have worked with include The National Ice Centre, The Greenway Centre, Epic Partners, Skate Nottingham, The National Justice Museum, Matt Bradbury Sports, Nottingham Adventure, Ignite Futures.
