We’re proud to say this area is home to all kinds of community organisers, groups and projects, working tirelessly to help others and make things happen in their neighbourhoods. It’s that kind of place – innovative, independent and community-led.

We’re here to support that however we can, from providing practical services to connecting groups with the opportunities they need to flourish. So whether you’re an established organisation or a local person with an idea for your area, why not get in touch to see how we could help.

Here are just some of the things we do:

Provide practical help – we can provide the tools, resources and support you need to run a one-off community project or event, or even set-up your own project or service.

Bring people together – as the link between a whole range of community projects we can help you meet useful allies, work in partnership and share skills and resources.

Influence decision-makers – we work with a whole range of local and national organisations, including Nottingham City Council and the Police. Together, we can make sure local people have a say in local services and the decisions that affect their lives.

Celebrate volunteers – there are lots of unsung heroes in our communities, going above and beyond to help others.  Our annual Volunteer Achievement Awards are a chance to recognise and reward their passion and hard work. The event is supported by local councillors.

Support community groups – we support voluntary and community groups in St Ann’s, Sneinton and Mapperley with a whole range of things including:

  • Setting up a group
  • Writing your constitution
  • Recruiting trustees and setting up a board
  • Developing policies and ways of working
  • Running meetings and planning an AGM
  • Establishing roles and responsibilities
  • Finding and applying for funding
  • Planning and running events
  • Recruiting and training volunteers
  • Promoting what you do
  • Risk assessments
  • Employing staff and managing accounts
  • Training and personal development

“The Renewal Trust helped us through advice and grant funding for our pilot session in a local school. The Renewal Trust were a tremendous help getting us started up. I look forward to continue working with them in the future.”
