Local charities and community organisations are in line to win a share of £300,000 from the M&S Energy Fund but they need your vote to be in a with a chance of winning.
We’ve applied to the fund to help a range of local charities and community organisations based at our John Folman Business Centre in St Ann’s benefit from energy-saving initiatives including green LED lighting – to help lower their electricity bills, reduce their running costs and shrink their carbon footprint.
The John Folman Business Centre was created to help local charities and community organisations to get established, by offering affordable, sometimes subsidised rents. Crucially, upgrading the centre would enable us to make savings we would pass onto tenants in the form of lower or subsidised rents, helping even more charities and community organisations to set-up and grow.
We’ve beaten off competition from around the UK to be shortlisted for the M&S Energy Fund, but now we need your vote to win a share of the £300,000 pot – which could be worth up to £12,000. If we’re successful, we’ll use the money to upgrade all the internal lighting at the John Folman Business Centre, to energy-saving LED lighting.
The John Folman centre is currently home to ten different community-led organisations including Women’s Aid, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum and Nottingham Muslim Women’s Centre.
Please take a few seconds to vote for us and help local charities and community organisations! Vote now.
Voting closes on 20 October 2017.
