New multi-sport programme goes live

We’ve launched a new, affordable multi-sport programme for Nottingham children, aiming to help them benefit from a range of sports – from as soon as they’re able to walk, all the way through to 12 years old.

Developed in consultation with parents and children, the Move Program features a variety of sports including football, cricket, tennis and dance and it’s designed to help children discover new sports from a young age and progress in the way that’s right for them – including helping talented children progress into professional training and academies with partners including Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Nottingham Tennis Centre.

The Move Program gives children aged from walking age to 5 years the chance to try out sports like football, cricket, tennis and dance, followed by the Move Up program for ages 6 to 12, to help them build on their skills and progress into specialist training if they want to.

Sessions are both child-only sessions and parental involvement and the program is open to children throughout Nottingham City and beyond, with all sessions held at the Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre on Hungerhill Road in St Ann’s.

The Move Program will build on our existing sports provision for children and young people at Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre, and it’s our biggest and best programme yet!

That’s not all…

In addition to the Move Program, we’re also bringing several new sports to the area, including archery and wrestling – building on our range of sports and activities for children and adults at Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre, which already includes Zumba, Yoga, Kung Fu, Karate, Dance, Badminton, Volleyball and Netball. Watch this space!
